Exodus 1-6:
Ex 1: Israel multiplies in Egypt. A new Pharaoh enslaves them for fear of their growth. He orders Hebrew baby boys killed, but the midwives quietly resist.
Ex 2: Moses is born, preserved in the Nile, and raised in Pharaoh’s household; He flees to Midian after killing an Egyptian, marries, and becomes a shepherd.
Ex 3: God appears to Moses in the burning bush, reveals His name (YHWH), and calls Moses to deliver Israel from Egypt.
Ex 4: God gives Moses signs to confirm his calling and appoints Aaron as spokesman; Moses returns toward Egypt despite hesitation.

Ex 15: Moses and Israel sing a song of deliverance; afterward, God provides sweet water at Marah and begins teaching reliance on Him.
Ex 16: In the wilderness, God provides manna and quail, establishing patterns of daily dependence and Sabbath observance.
Ex 17: God brings water from the rock at Horeb; Israel defeats Amalek as Moses’ raised hands symbolize dependence on divine power.
